Fit and rebuild a let, i'd say 2.5k IMO...??
Assuming your on the stronger shafts, bigger brakes already?

Because then it wouldnt be my car, i would want it to look as good as mine does and then have the power toback it up.
Thats why i want to do it to mine.
I wouldnt really save that much at all mate.
I've already looked into that

I believe Jambo once said you need to set aside about £3.5k to get it in and set up nicely.

I was thinkin around that as a ball park figure, a good XE enversion would be 1.5 - 2k for it to be running nice so that sounds about right, but you know that will no doubt be closer to 5k, once i have stopped buyin other bits

Ideally you want the engine bay strengthning as they do crack after a while with a let in, i didnt realise this but a lad off here i saw the other day told me his was cracking where you couldn't really see.
Would be a good idea to strengthen th front end up if thats the case.

And that was a price without a rebuild
If u get a decent engine, theres no need to rebuild it unless you are going to change the internal spec of things. If its a good strong engine itl be fine, mine is still going strong!
Id reccomend a new loom and all new sensors all round tho
It is SO worth it tho, most fun in a car ive ever had, gunna do another one next year hopefully

its all about how much you can afford, keep to budget on these kind of things can get really annoying.
I made a really ace spreadsheet when I started my XE conversion, but i lost track because of all the bolts/arms and shite I wanetd to replace so it was mint.
so my question is, how much can you afford?

i originally budgeted £3k, but theres allways bits you forget to put on the list, and sensors brake etc etc
As willay says how much can you afford. Also if you are competent to dthe work yourself this will save u the most!

Yes, maybe an idea to get in touch with a saudi oil company as u may need a tanker untill you sort all the little leaks

replace the sump, turbo oil return pipe, engine oil feed, dizzy, rocker cover gasket, oil breather pipe, make sure all hoses are tight
I had pretty much all of them bar the turbo return pipe leak on mine originally, os i reccomend new hoses and some extra hard jubilee clips
