Alright all..
Bascically, had a 106 gti about 4 month now, and I think its a wicked car really like it.. but something inside me says I want a saxo VTS! I think the vts, with the spoiler, VTS rims etc and slightly lowered looks so nice!
Please talk me away from this!
What would you lot have if the choice?

Had a 106 GTi myself once. Would rather have grated my bellend than swap it for a VTS. Yours got leather? Even if it hasn't its rarer, lower insurance group and not half as boy racer  Keep it.

Sadly it doesn't have leather, and as you say has a better image!
But theres somethiing about the ph2 VTS

I know your GTi is french aswell but they are much better looking and dont have the image that goes with Saxos IMO!

I've always hated saxos but seena few PH2 VTS's recently and they looked sweet (cant believe I just said that)

trade your GTi in for a newer bright yellow GTi with half leather. fit some GTi-6 alloys and lower it. much nicer than a VTS

yes that would look sweet! but mines a good runner and is running sweet so dont want to take the risk!

really pretty pointless they are the exact same car
fit a vts bodykit and get some vts wheels

if yours is running sweet and you dont want to take the risk then thats a good reason not to go to a VTS. you might end up with a crap one!

I had 2 106gti's both modified engine wise... really quick, handled amazing... got a BMW 328 coupe and then my MR2 Turbo..... i miss the driving experience and the ability to throw the 106 into the corners.... so since ive had 2 GTi's i thought id get a phase 2 VTS... black... and i plan to lower it and leave it standard  go for it mate... i see your logic... as long as you get a mint one

Your car is standard though isnt it.
While your looking at modified Vt's, lowered on the VT's 15's or whatever. Open a new window and have a quick gander at some modified Gti's, Blaze yellow is already the best colour so your sorted there, get some 16 inch Nimrods on it, a pugsport exhaust, lower it and your laughing

Imposs to tell.... the std VTS i drove was fine, slower than my 150bhp 106... but thats to be expected.. only thing is the VTS has bigger wheels so im not sure how that will effect cornering.. i used to love the standard 14's on the 106... small but nice for traction round the bends.. VTS is about 20kg heavier

Get 15 inch Nimrods then fella, little bit rarer but still can be found cheap on PGAC etc, or as mentioned earlier go for Cyclones also 15 inch.
Personally if i was in your state of mind wanting 15's, i wouldnt even think of anything else other than Vt's 15's

ive just gone from a saxo vts to a clio 182, the saxo is an ace car, very quick in std trim, its very light and precise to drive, the bigger alloys help the handling ever so slightly and imo improve the car's appearance over the pug!
IMO the pug is starting to get like the vts now in terms of image as the prices have come down more n more people are buying them and they're becoming more common!
if i were you id be leaving the pug/saxo family and trying to get hold of a phase 1 clio 172 for £4k

if i was to get another gti, id definately get one with leather. and lower it 50mm on standard wheels or get some vts alloys like Paul_J's and do a few tuning mods .Imo gti's look so much nicer than the vts, also see alot of furios/vtr's using the vts badges
