little bit worried to say the least, i fear it will fail on a few things, and i'm hoping nothing else crops up
any tips for blagging the emissions test? will it be more likely to pass if its warm?

not had the time
the things i know about
puncture in offside rear tyre (gonna bolt spare on)
emissions are a possible problem
brakes might need attention
probably some rust underneath somewhere
bottom ball joints are probably fucked
other than that though, i THINK its all alright
I'll beat the tits off it on the way to work, get it nice and warm
is a broken thermostat a fail? as the temp gauge wouldnt seem to be working if you glanced at it

I got my old sri through the emmisions by putting an addiment in the oil, putting bp ultimate in and giving it a good rag before

failed on
emissions - hydrocarbon level too high after high idle test
- carbon monoxide level too high after high idle test
- carbon monoxide level too high after normal idle test
Ball joint - nearside front ball joint showing excessive play
and an advisory on the NSR wheel bearing, and the crack in the windscreen
diagnosis is piston rings and cat need replacing
looks like i'm gonna need a new engine

my nova failed its mot in emissions last week and after another visit to test station to try a few things it was still way too high. i spoke to a mechanic later that night and he said timing can muck up the HC ppm so i knew straight away it was my cams so took them out when i got home and put the standard ones back in. Passed the next day no problem so if its got uprated cams try that
