so looks like the plans for the engine being perfect for pvs are off.

to cut a long story short, 80 mph, lots of white smoke and hissing, pop bang car stalls and more water is pouring out of the exhaust then is going in the other end. head gasket lasted just 11k miles. cant be bothered fixing it either, even tho its just £100 for a gasket, cam belt, tensioner and head bolts and probably 3 hours to do it all.

on another note im probably picking up my corsa c 1.8 sri this weekend so its not all bad news

yes, was a fully rebuit engine 11k ago. looks like the rad hose split and it overheated. didnt go much over 100 degrees on the gauge tho. It will be fixed tomorrow providing the head isnt fecked.

well, im oily, wet and cold but heres an update:

removed all the bits that were in the way:

head bolts coming out:

head off. cylinder 3 had a puddle in it

head ready to be inspected for warping and thought i might as well clean it all up and have a go at sorting my throttle linkage so its not so stiff:

if all goes to plan, it should be all up and running for pvs.

oh, and another good reason to buy throttle bodies. the complete head can be removed in 20 minutes
