converting into a 1.0 is a pain because of all the wiring, unless you are very competent you are going to struggle!

Why not sell the Corsa and run the Astra? I wouldn't bother with a 1.6 8V.

love the corsa and astra has a few suspension problems and other little bits which makes it a waste af time to me. Deal is i am competent enough to do it as work as a part time mechanic at my old mans place. Just need to know what i will need. Didnt they fit the 8v engine to corsas?

Yea, but only 1.2 and 1.4 versions. all the 1.6 engines were 16v.

the wiring in the 1.2 16v is the same as the 1.0 12v its a nightmare. all the required wires are uner the bonnet rather than in the drivers footwell. luckily i didnt need any of these wires for my conversion, but i still have struggled

It aint worth it as you would need to strengthen the engine bay, uprate the brakes and gearbox, swap ALL the running gear and thats before changing the wiring loom and suspension.Waste of time mate!!!!

You wouldnt need to strengthen the engine bay as its less power than the sports ran. The brakes and gearbox would be used on the astra! The std suspension would be fine.
The only ball ache is the wiring and it really is a ball ache!
