One thing people always forget is they're in the higher tax band, fair enough it's only a few quid more but still extra costs

I get 60 mile to £10 around town. That's at 97.9p a litre. Down the motorway I should get about 100.

Get a V6 Like Beardy and enjoy 32.5 mpg in 6th gear

or... get a Polo 6n diesel like me and get 55mpg

BTW a 1.6 is still cheaper tax, anything OVER that is £93 etc etc..

Meaning just driving about there's no way you'd get 40mpg, even on a run I think it's still pretty much impossible.

What the fuck has a 1.5 and a half litre engine anyways?

Is it still £93 per 1/2 for 1.6 and £60 per 1/2 for anything less?

On a run you would easily got over 40 Mpg

Christ i went the lakes last week and averaged 39mpg and that was including a couple of plays with cock head BMW drivers who sit about 1 metre off your back bumpers

My point being around town the 1.6 will not be good but on a run it will probably hit 40mpg

And another thing. the 1.2 8v is poor on economy

I had one for 3 years and struggled to get over 38 MPG really

I used to get about 100 miles to £10 in my standard 1.6

I now still get about 80-85 miles to £10 of optimax and now its running 170bhp on throttle bodies. really comes down to the type of driving you do and how you drive.

being quick has nothing to do with the fuel economy

just look at 1.2 8v corsas. rediculously slow but also shite on fuel.
