Rooney will start and play 1hr at least
I was listening to talk sport after the England game and a lot of people called in saying Lampard isn't good enough and should be dropped for Carrick.
I was outraged, he is world class and any midfielder who gets 20 goals in the Premiership is outstanding.
Looks like Jenas and Hargreaves to play tomorrow by the way due to yellows to others.

chelsea fan talking there i see.
Greg, you must admit, lampard has been poor by his standards, he doesnt deserve his place in the team IMO.

Lampard has indeed been poor but being the world class player he is, its a risk leaving him out because he can suddenly change a game TBHP

Luigi, Lampard has not been like he has been for Chelsea but then again neither has Gerrard like he has been for Liverpool.
This is due to x2 reasons..
1) Neither player can do what they do for their clubs because when they both get forward (which is what they both do best) it leaves the midfiled wide open. This is why we ned Carrick.
2) He has played A LOT of games, think he broke the record infact for most games in Premiership.
IMO dropping Lampard in general (next stage) is CRAZY

Well OK Greg, if you say Lampard and Gerrard playing together isn't defensivable suitable, and Lampard has had many games therefore is feeling the fatigue...
who do you drop? Lampard hasnt had a good 2 games, Gerrard hasnt been the best, but has scored, and IMO been better. Dropping Lampard for Carrick isn't a bad idea at all. You'll still get gerrard going forward, shooting, getting in the box, and ball winning, as he always does. and you've got the insurance of Carrick sitting deep.

Lampard is IMO the better midfielder (just)
Don't get me wrong they are both awesome in there day but Lampard pips it for me (no im not being biased)
Gerrard scored a superb goal, yes your right but who had the more chances? Lampard. If Gerrard didn't score that goal then everyone would be saying the opposite and jumping on the Gerrard wagon!
IMO - We drop Owen because I think he is very very poor.
Drop Owen for Carrick to suit just behind Lamps and Gerrard and put Rooney up front. It would be like having 3 forwards.
IMO (when Rooney is 100% fit) that would be a nice option.
Alll this talk is rubbish though, we are in the WC had ages and loads of friendlies to practise formations, players etc etc and we fluffed it.
We still don't know our best 11
CRAZY

Anyway we shouldn't need this discussion. If sven picked Carrick all the problems would be solved!

At the end of the day, we all have our different views and opinions...
Thats why we all support different teams and why football is the best sport in the world
Also thats why it's Sven's job and not ours (altho he gets £4mk a year and still doesn't know the best 11)
