I think My C16xe inlet manifold has an air leak. have had problems with the idle and feels a bit hesitant. changed the tps and idlec control valve for new ones and sorted it for a bit but is playing up again now.
So i have got a x16xe inlet manifold pretty cheap and wanted to swap it over if possible. it has the upper and lower parts to it so should this fit ok?

just find out if there is a problem with the c16xe one first. why replace it with a worse design inlet?
if there is an air leak the find where it is and replace the gasket.

is it that much of a worse design tho mate? I cant see i being much different apart from it being made from alloy. Im not that fussed about it being rapid, just want it running nice.

port shapes in the inlet are different, you will also have to make up a blanking plate for the egr valve and try and make it fit the c16xe throttle body which is different

does sound like a bit of a ballache. mind just whip mine off and have a good look. Do you know much about the idle problems on these? was wondering about taking the brather pipe off so it doesnt send oil residue into the inlet. wondered if this is clogging up the idle control valve? If i take the throttle body off and clean up then refit it seems to cure the problem for a few weeks but it seems to come back after then.

yes you can remove the breather and vent it to atmosphere.

do you think that might help? Sick of taking the trottle body off! lol
