Ok, so there were positives to take out of the tournament, despite us not living up to expectations.
The English player of the tournament is a hard one to call, but im going to go for :
Lennon.
The young lad never looked out of his depth, if anything looked like he belonged there from the start in front of an ageing Beckham. Didnt get the time on the pitch that he fully deserved and always looked hungry. He has the attitude and the talent to become a massive star. I also believe that considering the price tag Spurs payed, he was the bargain of the season last year.

Robbo for me it was between hargreaves and Lennon, but i chose Lennon due to it being his debut on the big stage, Hargreaves has certainly made all the critics think again though.

was talking about this today in the pub, and everyone agreed with either lennon or hargreaves. personally hargreaves just nicks it for me, but think if lennon had been given some more playing time it would have been him

lennon was cracking and should have been given more time on the pitch although his miss from Lamps free kick was not good enough But then, he is 19!! Euro 2008 for him

Easily. He got boo'd onto the field at Paraguay (I think it was against them). He's had to put up with shit whilst trying to play well. He's proven so many people, including me, wrong.

Any of the defence. England conceded 2 goals all tournament. Not bad that.

Hargreaves, Lennon, Terry, Ferdinand although the 2 centre backs had a blip against Sweden.

For Campbell as Ferdinand injured his groin. He wasn't there for the 2nd goal I know that much.

I would have said Ashley Cole was easily England's best performer in the Tournament

First 3 games in the group stages he had a mare and caused 2 goals. Unless your being sarcastic?

Hargreaves, just for proving all those doubting people who have never seen him play for Bayern Munich before.

Ditto as others are saying he definately proved me wrong especially against Portugal but as others are saying Lennon looked very promising and its a shame Sven didn't play Walcott as it could have been the same with him

Which two goals did he cause? Hw covered our centre half arses on more than one occasion, made crucial tackles and interceptions and linked up well in attack, you must have been watching a different player to me mate.

Was going to say Hargreaves before I even opened the thread. Joe Cole was also very impressive, He's facinating when he gets hold of the Ball!
