been told to use carb cleaner? guessing you just spray it onto the MAF sensor and leave to dry? Its so think worried any kind of cloth will kill/snap it.
thoughts?

Seth, its can't be done. Countless times on Scoobynet people have said to do this. It was suggested to me when I had my misfire. The MAF is a sealed unit, I tried running compressed air through it but couldn't.
Try blowing in to it you will see.

so even when the induction cone off and looking into the MAF its sealed? thought there would be a thin piece of wire sitting in the tube

there will be a bit of wire you can see, cleaning it is not possible really, using carb cleaner can cause it to burn out
