While removing the loom broke the connector that goes onto the ignition barrell/ignition switch
Now i cant actully see how your supposed to remove it without breaking it like i did
now do i need a new barrell with a switch on, or somethign else

yes greg, i still have all the wires etc on on bit in the back on the plu on the loom, the bit where it broke is where the two pins sit in, which is still on the barrell

If youve just broken the suround it might go back together, cant remember of the top of my head, but i would solder a new plug on it tbh.
It has two ignition lives and a perminante live so it not the type of wires you want to mess around with

Have you taken the lock barrel out at all? if not take the lock barrel out, i think what youve broken is the part which the lock turns, to switch on the ignition live, but im not entirly sure.

sounds like yo have killed the ignition switch the switch is held on by a grub screw at the front an a pin at the back undo the grub screw and give it a twist
i think your on about the plug tha plugs it to the ignition switch (been there done that)
you need to put the key in the ignition in pos 1 0r 2 (cant remember) put a screw driver in the hole on the plug to push the tab an pull and the plug comes off with out breaking anything

i was right youve kill the ignition switch new one required!!! thay never work right if you rebuild them theres 3 springs and 2 contacts in there and the contacts are different aswell the switch is £15-20 from vx or a quid down the breakers or free if you like
read the above and all will become Clear
from a post i made on another site
Just a quick guide
you need to put the key to pos 1 on the ignition and push a tab inside the conector and leaver the plug off the back of switch undo the grub screw give it a twist and the switch comes off
or down the breakers chop of the ignition wires then undo the grub screw if the keys arnt there pull it off job done

in the plug with the ignition wires coming out off it theres a square hole put a screw driver in it as theres a tag/clip that you need to push in normally you would have the key in the barrel in pos 1 in this case just need to move the centre bar around to line up the groove on the bar so the tag/clip goes into the groove it then releases the plug from the switch. yo may need to leaver in apart tho its hard to explain realy
