... with wireless networking.
Ive got the router on my computer in my room (the attic) below my room is my mums computer which I have a wireless adaptor on. The adaptor is connected and configured but the internet software won't locate my router... if that makes any sense.
So my mums pc won't connect to the internet. Please help, I am getting pissed off with it now

I had same prob, you need to go into the back end to get the right code which will be set into the internet.. Call your ISP!
Code will be on the router underneath

shelly to set the router up to begin with, you need to connect it to your PC via an Ethernet cable, there should be on in the box... The software will then pick it up via the hard-wired connection and will then allow you to configure it.

if the adpator has signal, then it is connecting to your router. It's just that you have to make settings of your router from your pc.

yes the blue cable from your PC to the router
tbf the AOL software for configuring the netgear is crap, had issues when setting up next doors router (netgerar+aol)
on your PC, go into Start->Connect To->Show All Connections
what is listed as connected and not connected? You should have somehting called Local Area Connection (connected) if it is, double-click it & go into Support tab, there should be info regarding the IP address you have been assigned... what does it say??

Just Local Area Connection - Connected, Firewalled
Assigned by DHCP
IP Address
Subnet Mask
Default Gateway
And Windows did not detect a problem...
