back to black them. But use the liquid stuff. Do this for a few weeks reaplying coats every day.
The colour will be back.

i think the original colour of the arches may have been grey in the first place actually not black! i think the previous owner may have painted them black himself and done a shite job ov it! ma dad sez it could be a good idea getting some sandpaper and removing all the black and applying some proper plastic paint! u reckon its a good idea? be honest please! and do you know how to take the arches of to make painting them a lot easier?

I have always used shoe polish the push liquid bottle one's, may not sound like the best thing to use but i found it never needs much more attention after a couple of coats and while i've worked at a car valeting company all there back to black, dash shine, vinyl gel does not work as well, makes them real shinny too!

There should be 5 plastic nuts along the underside of the arch so stick your hand under and have a feel. Undo these and there is a little plastic clip/button thing holding it into the bumper. You can just force this out gently really. If there are no plastic nuts behind the arch then the previous owner may have just stuck the arch back on. Then you'll just have to prize it off.
