Next season's FA Cup final could once again be back at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium, after the company building the new Wembley admitted it may not be ready until next June.

The new home of English football was due to be finished last year and should have held this year's cup final - but that was not the case and now further doubts about the stadium's completion date continue.

It was previously announced that Wembley would be ready in September, but that now looks unlikely according to builders Multiplex - although owners Wembley National Stadium Limited (WNSL) are still confident the venue will be up and running by the end of the year.

"Unless and until WNSL hold and successfully complete this series of test events, and obtain the required approvals, Multiplex will be prevented from achieving practical completion," said a Multiplex statement to the Australian Stock Exchange.

"The analysis has been reviewed with an expert in the operation of major stadia and indicates that it is unlikely that the stadium will be able to hold a test event for 90,000 spectators before June 2007.

"Multiplex has advised WNSL of its entitlement to extensions of time to October 2007 and of its intention to pursue legal proceedings in that and other respects, including WNSL's acts and omissions which are preventing Multiplex's ability to achieve practical completion."

Useless bunch of cunts should've had the stadium ready for 2006, yet it might not even be ready for 2007!!

Exactly. Have you seen the designs for the Olympics? Far more audacious then Wembley. We're screwed.

we need to get the Germans to come and build them for us. Half of the new stadiums for the WC came in under budget and were finished earlier than thought!
