Corsa - X14XE

i was driving home on my private test track lastnight, went for it got to an indicated 105-110mph pretty much flat out.

I felt something change and car felt like it was holding back a little and got a bit more throaty, carried on.

anyway when i stopped its idling on 3 cylinders (what it seems like to me) pulling away sounds like a cement mixer/camper van

what could i of broke? Not losing any water, not overheating, just very lumpy

if its simple i'll fix it, if not corsa is going asap

when the car is running pull off one lead at a time to find out what cylider aint firing. swop the leads around. once u know what cylinder it is to eliminate leads. then check plugs, compression test to make sure that cylinder has compression. then the last things are coil pack, injector etc

thanks Lee

i'm hoping its just a spark plug.

when you say swop leads around, do you mean, take it off both coil and plugs? and try it in another one, rather than leaving it connected at coil and just swapping it to another plug

thats the one Jimbo, take it off coil and plug and try it on the one which isnt firing... if it fires you obviously need new leads

right i've found out that the 2nd cylinder in from the left is not firing.

swapped spark plugs and leads, with another one and its still the 2nd one that not firing.

-can't see any oil in the water
-nothing seems to be leaking
-no major smoke from exhaust, is a little smoky on startup, grey/blue colour

must be something gone plug was a bit oily/petrol when i took it out, not near tip but at the other end, near thread

do a compression test mate. if thats all fine. then either change the injector on that cylinder or swop it around with another injector off a different cylinder or u could try changing the dispac. dispac. (if u need a dispac or injector let me know as ive got some) or get someone to turn the car over while u hold the ht lead off the cylinder that aint firing with a spare spark plug in the end resting on the engine and c if its sparking. as that will eliminate the dispac.

i seem to be getting sparks from all the leads, and when i swapped the leads from cylinder to cylinder it was still the same one that didn't fire

have u actually held a plug on the engine thou as it may not be sparking. if u do that then it eliminates the dispac etc.
