Ipswich Town striker Sam Parkin looks set to leave Portman Road after the club accepted bids from Luton Town and Preston North End for the striker.

The former Swindon star is now talking to both clubs and could have his future resolved before Saturday's game with Hull City.

Ipswich have already rejected an approach from Coventry for the powerful striker, who could yet return with an improved offer, but both Mike Newell's Hatters and Paul Simpson's outfit have seen their subsequent bids find favour.

The transfer fee involved is reportedly around the £300,000 mark for a player who moved to Portman Road a year ago, but Parkin himself is remaining coy over his future.

"I can't really say a great deal," stated Parkin.

"I am with my agent and we are ready to talk to any club that agrees a fee with Ipswich.

"Beyond that I don't want to say anything else.

"The situation might become a lot clearer later in the day [Thursday]."

I'm very in favour of this move! If he picks us ahead of Preston that is

They are selling him as they are confident in signing Crystal Palace striker John Macken for 250k. We in turn are in for Izale Mcleod from MK Dons.

I don't see what the fuss is with Nugent, better players around at the same kind of money.

Him and Haynes had a falling out on the training pitch because Haynes wouldn't pass to him, Parkin got stressed and drove off in his 4X4, next day Jim called him in had gave him a ear bashing and Parkin gave him lip back, so they decided it would be best for him to leave.

He is sh1t anyway, utter tripe.

he only scored 3 goals last season...he is fast, and IMO better than bent was in his 1st senior season. but he never seems to be in a good position to score, and doesnt seem to be a good finisher. at times all it seems he's got is the pace of a 100m sprinter
