Did u try asking for your pac code ? they normally give in..what phone are you wanting?

Ive got the phone already - k800i. I tried to get them to reimburse the money by claiming i was told it was free

Depends what tarrif you are on, if you are on o2 250 or above you should get it free.

If not blag it and say the carphone warehouse or phones for you will do it on a competitor tarrif that cheaper for free. Ask Matt H about that
