the gsi grill comes down into the bumper so if you take it off you'll leave a semi circle shape thats been cut out.

Buuut, there are some nice nice GSi bumpers out there with different grilles and they do look good. I'm trying to think of some names to get some pics, but I can't remember!

What was involved in modifying the grill to fit?

dunno, didnt do mine
Obviously need to smooth over where the vaux badge goes and i think you need to buil up where the corners are with filler or whatever. i would imagine you may have to cut some bits as well so it doesnt sit dead high.

Yeah I'm buying a GSi bumper from fat_rew from here, he said he'd remove the badge and smooth in the recess for me as he's fixing it up a little anyway.
I'll cut my slatted grille myself when the bumper arrives, I imagine it shouldn't be too hard.

My bumper had to be cut as the gsi grill is smaller in height than the kamei. It was then fibreglassed and re-sprayed

I paid £350 to have the bumper cut / fibreglassed / sprayed and the side skirts sprayed and fitted.

thats not too bad, might be tempted as i have new skirts and rear bumper also, so may get all three sprayed and fitted?
the rest of my car has not been resprayed, do you think my car will look crap if i dont get the whole thing sprayed?
