Do you actually need anything bigger than that? I only use mine as a buffer to stop me getting fined. Well most of the time. I'm using the overdraft at the moment to pay for petrol as I have had to drive to many miles this week

I know two people with Barclays and Alliance and Leicester accounts who both have £5000. Depends on your circumstances and whether you want to get on the slippery slope.

i had one for 500 quid. MASSIVE mistake IMO, i was constantly in it, ended up closing the account because I didnt want the hassle of getting charged if/when i went over the limit.

get charged interest on it and that's it unless you do go over your limit, thats when the fines start coming

mine is £2000 with Barclays. Comes in handy now and then as you can effectively use it as a sort of credit card but without the hassle of high interest rates and late payments. If you're sensible with you're money it shouldn't matter if you have a large overdraft or not.
