yeah people do that but it would be like going to the lecture twice then as you would have to type it up again after, worth a thought though

I used to but dont bother now cos:
1. the uni try to stop people doing it cos people were playing games in lectures (most lecturers dont bother tho)
2. I couldnt keep
3. Couldnt be bothered to haul my laptop around

Yeah I take mine, also I got this on a rental scheme by the uni & ABK Laptop Rentals (StudentCLICK)
They still havent taken any money out of my account for the laptop, had it now nearly 12 months... Wheeee free laptop
And I do play games on mine in lectures, aswell as make them... but given the course I'm doing, its not a problem (Computer Games Tech)

Get a decent MP3 player that can record. Sit at the front and record and take notes.

Dunno about other courses, but I need to draw lots of diagrams and stuff, so a laptop would be slung at the back of a drawer and never used....

pda.
You still need to write but everything is in a digital format.
Or pda with a little wireless keyboard.
Can type and then easily draw diagrams when needed.
And record the lecture at the same time.
Can easily have sound, text and diagrams all stored easily lecture by lecture.
