Hi guys, having trouble selling my car so might keep it now.. it's a 1.4 8v spi with a K&N induction kit and a cat back scorpion imola exhaust...

I am considering chucking in a 1.6 GTE/GSi Nova engine, 8v mpi....

What stuff do I need to do this?

Do I need to swap wiring looms and all that kinda stuff?

Do I need an uprated fuel pump or swap my tank etc for a Corsa SRi/GSi one?

Can use my standard driveshafts can't I?

Finally could I re-use the scorpion system? or would it not mate up...?

Thanks all

Your mounts and shafts will be fine.
The exhaust will fit fine too, you'll have to use your complete system inc downpipe and manifold, fit that to the nova gte engine, which will loose you a bit of power as the nova gte doesn't have a CAT, and has a 4-2-1 manifold/downpipe as standard, whereas yours is currently 4 into one restrictive pipe.

You will need a MPI fuel pump too, you can get one off a corsa sri, mk3 astra mpi etc, it just replaces your spi intank pump.

Wiring wise, theres about 6/7 wires that need wiring up.

Coolant system would stay the same.
Just fit the coolant pipes on the new engine

Sweet, I'm assuming if I went the 1.6 16v tho I'd need this return pipe?

Am toying with options of 8v vs. 16v at the moment lol if I keep my car

good point i spose... yeah an 8v would be cheap, infact I'd be tempted buy a rotton nova gsi for the engine then break the rest of the car, seems a good way get an engine to me easily and quickly lol

I've just put a C16SE (8v MPI) into my (ex 1.4) Corsa SRi and it was pretty much problem free.....even used the original loom

Aye if this was an mpi (as in a corsa sri model) then it'd be a nice easy swap, few extra bits with mine being an spi lol

What wires do you need to attach up when you fit it? I've got one waiting to go in complete with ECU etc, but need to know what to attach where tho.
