when the sole intention of the car is speed and handling over anything thing else?

designed with the driving experience as most important brief?

rather than, design an astra for shopping and your grandparents, fit it with spec'd up engine and bodykit?

I agree steve, anything over this on the roads is pretty dangerous.

No Comprimises.

Something which is built from the off as an car which will handle well and go reasonably well too.

Lotus Exige is the best example i can think of.

i re thought that comment of mine and it doesn't work, i.e: clio V6, designed to be a small hatch/town car, yet they have made what i'd call a performance car from it

also, a BMW M3/M5 is a performance car, as is an Audi S4/RS4, but they started out as a boring saloon.

Sitting at work today, a guy (who blatently thinks my 106 is a pile of rubbish) - was asking me what I'm gonna get as my next car.

I found this question strange as it implied he thought my car was junk and it should be replaced.

Anyway, I said I was happy with mine, as it was quick for what it was.

He has a boggo slow 1.4 8v 206 - and said 'the 206 Gti would be far quicker than your car!'

I was like, no it wouldn't not even the 180 version. (He didn't even realise there was a difference between 138 bhp version and 180 version).

Then he said, 'Oh well, I'm gonna get a Astra Turbo (~200 bhp) next - that'll embarress yours'

Well, it depends what he wants to do with it. Round corners I'll happly cain him, and I'm sure down the 1/4 mile I'd still be quicker / close.

Of course if the 1 thing he holds onto at night, is the fact on the motorway he'll leave me behind - well who cares.

I hate the way people associate the fact that since my car has a 1.6 engine (and they've had a 1.6 8v spi once in their life in a barge), and is a 106 which most people think of the base models, it must be shit and slow.

I think for a 1.6 N/A!! my car is v.impressive.

Obviously this guy has never even seen my car move or been in the car, as he's just a person who sits in a office at work all day.

just hate the pre-judger's. who are clueless about cars.
