At home, nothing too critical.

Was beeping yesterday like the power had been lost but it was still plugged in and switched on. Computers were running fine.

Powered everything down so it didn't drain and stop giving power, then swapped it with my other one to see if that was OK. That wouldn't power up either and I eventually narrowed it down to the mains lead. Plugged a working mains lead in my beeping UPS and it gave a bloody big flash and cracked the lid with the bang.

Don't think thats going to be much use in the future. It also rattles now.

dont forget to discharge the batteries when playing around.. thats always a good one

UPS are going cheap on ebay

I've moved the one for the screens on to the computer, meaning that if I lose power I'll lose three screens immediately but keep the primary monitor with the task bar on it.

Might invest in another yet but I don't fancy second hand in case of memory effect. Not sure if thats an issue. Actually it if it didn't blow up in 14 months I'm actually better off than a new one from a proper shop
