as above i have a really old, but quite large TV that i want to hook up a freeview box to. But the freeview box need to be plugged in via SCART to the TV along with Aerial cable.

now is there a way or connector that i can transform the SCART to a normal coax connector? if that makes sense??

Have you tried tuning the freeview box in or is it one of the ones that doesn't output on the coax?

Try tuning the freeview box in same as you would any other channel.

The av channel on your tv is not what the instructions mean.

Doesn't work like that. That just supplies the aerial signal to the TV so you can still watch analouge TV on it.
