you can fit a 1.4 cam, 1.4 4-2-1 manifold, larger injector or complete throttle body of a 1.4spi, change it to mpi. there are loads of things you can do to the engine but for the very small gains in power, its alot of money and hassel

the throttle body will bolt straight on but im not sure what sort of gains u will get. if you get any, it wont be much.

the other thing you could do would be to remove the injection system totally and move to carbs. the 1.2carbed novas where quicker than the 1.2spi's

I honestly wouldn't bother. The head is so restrictive on those engines that without modifying that first you wont be able to get any more power out of the engnie without serious work. Sorry to put a downer on things. My recomendation would be to look after the car, don't crash it and get something a bit better in a year or so. Just put up with it, I had to, then I put a 2.0 engine in my car Errr, which I haven't drivin in over a year and a half

4-1 manifold, a nova sr cam and an 1800 cav tb is about the best youll get (with decat) which will give about 60bhp.

the next step inolves a capacity incrrease to 1400 and a nova sri C14SE head.

i used a piper fast road cam, 4 branch manifold, 1.4 injector, vernier pulley, and i matched the gaskets on inlet+exhaust and gave it a de-catting and a good john nobles tune up and she made 76.9 bhp, which i considered ok for a 1.2 8v not worth the hassle though! a 1.4 sri 8v engine is just as good, though you cant beat the burble of a cam

the head keeps going the 1.4 though and now its.... ticking!

i thought that 105bhp sounded to good to be true lol was just having a blonde day

i can get the cam, throttle body and manifold for under 200 pounds so would that be worth it?

and what do you mean dirty hands stuff?
