Off to test drive a Corsa D soon.

Its the launch weekend so they are making a big do of it.

Says the Corsa's main competitors are going to be there aswell as they are confident the new Corsa is better than them so you can test drive them all to compare.

Presume that means the Fiat Punto Grande, Ford Fiesta and Renault Clio.

Will try and get pics if I can

D wont decrease the C's value much. It doesnt happen the same with mall cars as they are so popular.

The sxi B is practically the same price as a 3 year younger c on AT. 2000vs 2003

I went out in a 1.3 CDTi SXi 90PS. The interior is really good. The SXi seats are very supportive and have quite deep side bolsters. Very well built, the materials felt quite upmarket for a car of that size. There was alot of room in the front. Didn't look like alot of room in the back at all but none of the old Corsa's have.

It handled better than my car. Was about the same speed wise, felt a bit flat off boost though. Very refined and quiet. Going along at 70-80 on an A road felt more like 50. 70 in 6th was only 2000rpm.

The one I drove had an Irmscher front grill, front lip and rear spoiler (that my Godfather fitted as he works in the Vaux bodyshop) so it looked quite smart. Still not sure on the headlights though/

Didn't take any pics. Would of felt like a bit of twat stood infront of everyone with my camera phone out

I'd maybe think about a VXR. They are going to ring me when they get more info on the VXR. Said probably Spring next year so will wait and see.

It's a mini Astra on the inside.

Just wish they made the headlights a bit smaller

I went to see one when I dropped in the deposit for my Fiat as the garage is just down the road. I really didn't like the exterior, the interior is nice though, the knobs and dials are quite funky

I like all the exterior except the headlights. Probably grow on me as I see more of them about.

I didn't like the new Punto at all when I saw that but quite like that now.

Oh and for some reason they didn't have a New Punto there to compare against! That was the only other car I would of wanted to compare it against.

They had a Clio, a Yaris and a Fiesta.

they won't compare it to the Fiat, because the Fiat is better looking, and people would choose it over the Corsa.

probably

The other cars all looked like real base spec models so the Corsa looked ace in comparison but I guess that was the effect they were wanting!

The Fiat will always look better, it was designed by the car designer of the century

The good thing about the Corsa is you can have satnav on ot from the factory too. There are lots of pros and cons about both the cars. I wonder if the Corsa is going to have similar problems to the Fiat too, as there have been two recalls on them already, plus several other little problems

Chris Bangle?

Matty, I bet model for model, when compared to the other cars, there's probably not much in it, like you say, Vauxhall probably had a few cheap cars, compared to a middle of the range Corsa.
