My mate has a gsi and when he is still or just slightly moving and turns his steering wheel there is a loud screech, anyone have any idea's??

how far does he turn the wheel? does he full lock it or just turn a little. has it got power steering too as it could just be the fluid

it has power steering yeh. it screech's if he turns the wheel just a little bit whilst he's stopped, but also if he's movin say doing a u-turn when he's on full lock it screech's then too.
