Im currently looking a set of wheels for my Corsa, but i think the highest offset they come in is ET40. Will i be able to get away with ET40 (i know ET45-49 is recommended) or are they likely to scrub/make the handling crap/etc? Currently my car isnt lowered at all, but at some point im likely to lower it 40mm, although i'll probabaly never go for a 60mm drop. Will they cause too many problems or is ET40 ok? Thanks.

i have an offset of et42 on my 15" wheels with low profile tyres and i can get 2 in the back no probs, however on large bumps or pot holes it does rub at the front sometimes, but thats only because i havn't got round to taking the bolts out and filing the inside arch lip! i have a mate who is down 60mm on his with et40 and he has no probs at all so i would say you will probs be ok mate!

I wouldn't get et40 and lower it more than 40mm though

fronts dont rub at all 7x15

rears i removed bolts cut arches and bonded back on and they only rub on large bumps and with more than 1 in the back, but they are 8 inch wide and et 30

lowered 50mm too

lol i payed an extra £100 because i wanted the highest offset i could possibly get for the wheels i wanted! was quoted £360 for an offset of et40 which put me off, ended up paying £460 for an offset of et42, worth it though!

I would go higher if i could, im kinda picky about the wheels i like though.

Doesnt really matter now anyway, my insurance company said i cant even fit 15s to my car yet or they'll cancell my policy. I'd go else where now if i wasnt 4 months away from my NCB. Bastards
