I just know AOL is a pain with wireless routers. I'll have a gander to see if I can find some settings.

have you got all your AOL log in details on the router correctly?
On my GF's its just a case of opening up Firefox and your online. And to connect on the downstairs computer, which is wired to the router, just as normal.

Check the routers instructions, will probably tell you in the IP needed...normally something like 192.168.2.1

lol, had exactly the same problem setting up aol on my dads laptop. Took me days to sort it out. I did as cosmo has sugggested and it made no difference. In the end I found there is an icon in the bottom right of the taskbar which relates to the wireless dongle thing, I rightclicked the icon and clicked on exit and it connected up.

Is your router showing a live internet connection? And is your PC connected through the router OK?
If so then its a problem at the laptop end. Do a search for wireless connection (in the networks folder) and then connect to yours.

My dads was like that, the router was live but couldn't connect. I also seem to think there was an issue with Aol not running correctly with XP SP2.

not on my gf's you dont!
All the connection details go onto the router during set-up and then once its got a live connection you can just open IE or Firefox and its connected. When on the main computer you need to connected in the normal way though.
Have you been on the aol website and got the info on installing a wireless router? (http://info.aol.co.uk/broadband/homeNetworking.adp?promo=228937&promoCode=228937)

no. But if it doesnt have a live connection (normally a light showing when it does) without it being connected then there is something up with the set-up of the router.
