most manifolds for the X16 will have the hole... in which case, just whack a bolt in it!

mild is better than stainless, stainless will crack with heat over time, but you of course have the rust issue with mild

you having a laught or what?
90% of high powered turbo manifolds are made from Stainless steel
http://www.migweb.co.uk/forums/vauxhall/mechanical-electrical/221059-2x-astra-mk3-gtbb-28r-35r-project.html
he makes manifolds and has just made 521bhp (at the wheels) running his manifold.......

you have to pay a lot of money to get a stainless manifold that doesnt crack with the expanding and shrinking of the heat
most of the run of the mill stainless manifolds will crack over time due to heat changes, iv seen it happen, and iv see the amoutn of complaints from people who work at tuning places selling these things, named brands too

i love it when people argue the toss when people have had first hand experience with something, especially on a mass scale

Mild doesn't rust as quickly as a manifold as it does as a backbox/system, because of the heat evaporating the moisture.

agree with steve on this one. theres nothing wrong with mild steel manifolds because as rob said they get so hot that the moisture doesnt get time to eat into it.
if you get a stainless manifold, get a good one like lexmaul or supersprint.
just look at SBD manifolds, some have been around for 10 years and still going strong, they are mils steel.

mild steel- wrap it before it goes on and then you get less heat in the engine bay- you dont have to look at rust and it will probably protect it from salt and prevent rust etc???

with the kill rate on this site i guess the car will be dead long before a mild steel manifold is totally rusted through!
