hmzzzzz, but 8v, more torque.... And not sure how much quicker a modified 16v would be than a modified 8v, if you take the torque into consideration.

I can get insured quite nicely on an s2, i wish quinn would quote me on a gti, if i got one id have to change companies and id lose 6 months no claims.

gti and s2 stats are very similar, as shown on the rallye register. Withvery slight tuning, the s2 would whip one!

GTIs are easier to tune though, 4-2-1 and pugsport, fast road cam and remap is good for 160bhp

I'd have the S2 Rallye over a GTi any day of the week.
As long as it was blue.

If im getting a new car im abandoning the rally quest i dont feel there is place for someone of my age and on such an income in motorsport especially round these parts anymore. Im looking for something more desirable as an everyday car aswell.

Butler......i'm truely dissappointed, I thought you were a rallye enthusiast through and through!
There is a place for a rallye wherever you are, they are so rare!
Income wise, a standard S2 rallye will out perform many similar classed cars, and then when you can afford it, modify the engine.
