Ordered a set of team dynamics alloy wheels, after the salesman phoned Rimstock to check if the 15's they will fit over the v6 brakes.

After that i was told that standard corsa offset was et38, but because of the brakes et45 would fit . I didnt say anything because et45 is what i want. The guy even wrote on the sheet 'supply as et45'.

After i got the wheels home yesterday i found et35 stamped on the back.

Halfords are being alright about me changing the wheels from et35 to et45 but the supplier, rimstock seem sure that they will fit and told me to trial fit them.

Should i even bother fitting them because i want to keep the car usable, ie no arch work, can carry mates etc. the tyres are 195/45s by the way.

the form you signed is a contract, tell them you were told the product was available, therefore you want what you ordered

it clearly says on the sheet that if the order is incorrect then you can return them

DO NOT FIT THEM, they wont accept them back

The way the guys at halfords were chatting to me, it sounded like they would only sort it out if the supplier accepted that its their fault.

you have a legal contract, not with rimstock, with halfords - its up to halfords to sort it with their supplier that you get the product you asked for

do you have a copy of the form you signed?

because they can't be arsed to ring and arrange a courier to send them back etc... I used to work at halfords and I know how lazy some members of staff at other stores used to be...If its clearly stated on the form to supply et45, thats what you should get.... cause hell and they'll sort it out !!

I had the very same problem like this, I used mine for 4 weeks and when deciding to lower the car came to know that the offset was wrong and the saleperson in Halfords didn't give me the right advice

called customer services, emailed and sent a complaint letter.

they took back the wheels, gave me a new set (swaped tyres though) with better offset and the new ones were more expensive but they did it at the same price and I also got £50 voucher

their customer care is very good, try this way

you would probably find that because it was halfords fault they were left with them in stock, and the store paid out for your new set (queit rightly so)

rimstock/motorsport wheels/wolfrace will only accept them back if they sent the wrong thing

*edit* just to add, i would agree that customer care from the store is normaly quite good so long as you speak to the right people the right way

i asked the team dynamics sales manager about something like this, i couldnt get the wheels i wanted from them in the right offset, he says they keep a stock of blank wheels and will machine to whatever offset you want but the order will take a bit longer, most of the people who work for halfords dont have a clue

TBH my local halfords said this, i wanted to get TD 2 for my ibiza and i was talking to the bloke and he said they will only supply the specific offset to your car, so i asked him wot car has an et35 offset??? Well then i told him i own that car!!!!!!! They are just pricks, a RIPSPEED SPECIALIST told me that Spax don't do suspension for Seats, but then the bloke in another store said they did, another SPECIALIST was trying to sell me a bleed valve to wind my boost up!!!!!!! They really are a joke, I got some nice bulbs there though, highly reccomend Ultra brilliance bulbs, not blue at all and give brilliant visibility!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i got pissed off in the end and never brought anything from them.(apart from the bulbs!!

just to not be tarred with the same brush

i am one of those specialists.

i do try my hardest to get it right.

and if i dont know about somthing i will try my hardest to find out what needs to be done,

example, guy came in with a jag and wanted a set of wheels, it was a sunday he picked the ones he wanted and paid.

order went throu the monday after, the company phoned back to say they dont do wheels for that car, as it has metric/imperial "not sure" but old school hubs i told the guy and he said which ones do fit
i then went and phoned every single wheel supplier to get the correct wheel for his car, as the rears needed to be a wider wheel at the back.

and if i cant do somthing im sorry but at least i try my best, just standing up for myself. as i work bloody hard and to read all this doesnt help. i know some stores arent great, but some stores do try thier very best

my advice on this is to go to the store you got the wheels preferably in office hours so they can phone rimstock, explain the situation, to the manager if need be, dont go in shouting and arguing jusdt explain the full situation and im sure somthing can be done, if they haven't been used they have been sent in error as the offset was stated on the form so its upto rimstock to send a replacement set of wheels and collect the other ones.

well tbh anyone interested in doing engine mods surely wouldn't go to halfords, unless it's an exhaust or induction kit and thats normally for noise rather than performance!!!!!! But if you say "i'm sorry i don't know" fair enough, but if you say "yes by fitting this bleed valve and turning it half a turn will give me 200bhp cos this wot he done in his R5 GTT!!!!! Wot a knob, i'm sure you are helpful though.

Agree on that one, I wrote a complaint which was not in any way rude but just explaining the facts; maybe that's why they agreed to get it changed. BTW it was with Rimstock and they agreed to change the wheels even for them having been used for about 4 weeks. They admitted their mistake.

Do it the proper way and you will get more than you would expect; except for the time loss (they compensated me with a higher value wheels, better offset and £50 voucher which I can't complain
