well we all have to start sometime and today was my time

With help on a few calls with beardy
(ended up answering vauxhall technical helpline was very funny)

Jobs were

icv
afm
lambda

sounds easy to most but never attempted car stuff

as you all know car was running like a heap of shit stalling out all the time and idling all over the place

got all jacked up

looked lovely and low at back

got cracked on got icv off and one i bought put on was easy once got told best way to do it

then fitted the afm instead of removing just at afm i took it off at powercap side as it was less pressure on the hose

im glad i did i foud this

fairley positive this was main cause to all problems taped it all up just so i could see if this was true

fired it all up and low and behold no stalling idles just at 1k only one thing was rigt at beginning i revd and it dropped too low and stalled once and never did again would this be because the afm had been sat for quite a lot of months?

so ended up cover in oil mud cut my hand buuut i know it will sound sad im well proud of myself even though would take mechanics like an hour and it took me a few but hey will be easyer next time

****if anyone has an sfi to afm tube let me know asap****

I think Jacko has one? I'm pretty sure there was one in that box of bits i gave him for that black corsa i sold him

Have you sorted out that problem of it draining the battery?

Still haven't seen it driving up my end though ..........

For a 2.0l engine. Nothing to do with your 1.4.

i enjoy car work. especially at the end of it when you have fixed something, its worth it all day long to be covered in crap to then start a car and hear everything ok

good on you for having a go

And at the opposite end of the scale you have me, happy with the top end rebuild I just finished, then trying to start the car and nothing happening

Eel has a problem with his car (a 1.4) and despite being told over and over again what it's likely to be in HZ, he persists in mythering everyone about his ICV. I was telling him that its no good asking about your 2.0 as it's different altogether
