I want to get this sorted out very soon. I bought some depo headlights for my car and to be honest they are poo at night even with xenon lights. Now i have lowered the car 60mm and oh my god the light ends about 5 foot infront of my car !!!

How has everyone else sorted this problem as im sure most people have it. Thankies.

Does the lights have adjusters on them perhaps you could lift the beam a little higher?

I'm wondering if the 5ft in front of the car thing is down to the alignment of the beams.....if mine are the same I'll take them to be sorted just to be sure.

If they're e-marked then they can't be that bad I'm thinking.....otherwise they'd be failing MOTs left, right and centre.

Good suggestion powey.

They are not very good, i have the adjuster set on the highest one. Are those bulbs you can buy at motorworld those 60% brither bulbs better than xenon ?, that would cure the brightness but still it wont shine far enough. I reckon i might have to take the bulb out and mess about with the fitting inside to make it shine higher.

I have Depo's and have no problem. They are about the same as standard headlights when they are on dipped beam, but they are very bright when they are on full beam, which is when you need them most!

Apparently, getting higher wattage bulbs such as rally ones (Philips H7 80w for example) is actually illegal (65 watts max) for road use.

So you're likely to not only cause an accident by flaring someone but you're likely to get nicked for them too.

be careful with your wiring too- you may end up melting something with higher wattage bulbs.

Very clever crazy, it took a few hours to think of that?

I've bought them, my car is in the booth waiting for them to be fitted and I needed a new offside light...they're going on there

Thinking about putting my old lights back in and just dusting them over with matt black. The depos are too poor lighting.

just went out and fooked about with the lights, turns out there is a manual height adjuster in the form of a spining toggle next to where the electric bit for the motor plugs in. Wound that upto full and i can see a far distance now , just got to get some brighter bulbs
