CLUB STATEMENT
West Ham United have today announced the departure from the Club of Alan Pardew.
Alan has made an important contribution since joining as manager in September 2003 but this season's results have been disappointing and have left the Club in a very difficult position.
The Chairman, Mr Eggert Magnusson, and the Board have been concerned by the performances of recent weeks and feel that it is the right time to make a change in the best interests of the Club.
Mr Magnusson and the Board would like to place on the record their thanks to Alan Pardew for his hard work and commitment and to wish him well for the future.
The search for a successor is now underway in order that a new manager can be in place ahead of the January transfer window.
First Team Coach Kevin Keen will take temporary charge of team affairs until a new appointment has been made. No further statements on this matter will be made by the Club before that time.

Totally agree. I dunno where teams like WHU and co get this idea that they should be doing better than what they are. For me WHU should be a team battling to stay up, and that what they are doing. Sacking him this close to January is also very bizarre, barely got a chance to change things around since the start of the season. January is when it all happens.

West Ham were absolutely awful agsint Bolton it has to be said, BUT they've been pretty poor all season really.
Reasons behind that, no outlet up front, no real creativity from the look of it, Dean Ashton is out, that's seems to be the main difference to last year
Tevez seems to have been all right in the last few games i saw on Sky, but he's all alone, Zamora and Harewood have never been premiership quality, and they're proving it now.
The last 3 games, if they've been given as a reason for the sacking, they've had both their starting centre backs injured, and Spector is shit from what i saw.
I also agree with Cosmo about last season, they should still be able to achieve a midtable position though.
