Hey ive got my center console painted the same colour as my car

Ive got rid of the handle one and paints the ash tray looks sweet I reckon all you really need to paint is the center bit and adding bits around the inside looks tacky. Oh and when you do it DONT skimp on the sanding, took me ages to sand it all and it was very worth it, totally smooth. Filler primer is also a good idea

the plastic is porous and traps moisture, it doesnt matter what you do to it there will be a good chance it will crack, there will be people out there who will say i did mine and it never cracked, which is fair enough, they have been lucky or it will eventually crack

ticking time bomb

imo if you want to colour code little bits and pieces then fine as you can always redo it if it cracks, but painting a whole dash is silly

What sort of paint do you use? Because im thinking of painting mine too. Or can you just buy new parts and replace them?

jsut rub it down till its smooth, plastic primer the panel, grey primer, few layers of paint, and then laquer

main point to a good finsih is thin layers n giving it time to dry between coats

It will crack if the plastic flexes. You have to be really careful.
