You want war films that aren't made in Hollywood with the expection of Band of Brothers.
Stalingrad is one of the best war films ever, its German but with subtitles as is Downfall and Das Boot.
Iron Cross is also a excellent war film, Bridge to Far as well.

Thats lazy.
The version I've got of Stalingrad is dubbed and its pretty gay, I prefer it with subtitles.

Band Of Brothers is THE best WWII film ever - yes I know it's not a film and it's tv series but it's so good it should be on the big screen and win lots of oscars and stuff.
It's the buisness!
As Ollie said, there are rumours of doing a Pacific theatre of war kind of follow on, mixed reactions from me as I don't want it to be a flop and taint the original

Really really enjoyed band of brothers, i thought the first ep was a bit shit cos not that much happened, but my mate told me it was good so i watched the 2nd one and got hooked (obv the 1st one was important to set the scene etc) but yeah, i got really emotionally involved in all of them and even though it was shown from the american perspective I was quite happily suprised how un hollywood it was generally, and a very realistic and eye opening look at the reality of war. Highly recommend it to anyone

So much more happens in the book on which the TV show is based.
Also watch the bonus DVD where it shows the behind the scenes training etc etc

I don't live that far away from Aldbourne & Chilton Foley where the Americans in Band of Brothers were based.
