Well as i come to finish the outside of the car i will be moving onto the the engine for a little.
myself well im a rookie when it comes to these things, 1st car, 1st time looking into all of this so i some suggestions would be nice.
Just want some recommendations on inductionkits, i.e. what people would recommend for a corsa : )
Only performance part currently on the car is a full performance cat-back remus exhaust set.
Other than that anything else that won't cost me the world that will just give a little boost or tune up on the engine would be awesome, prices or sites where i can find things would also be nice.
Anymore questions etc just ask and ill reply.

Everyone will say dont get a induction kit for the corsa, puerly because it'll suck in all the warm air coming off the engine. Pending on your budget u can eathier drill your airbox, or get a enclosed induction kit such as Viper air, or BMC CDA.
As for other modifcations, the SRi 1.4 8v is pretty limited and you'll end up chucking loads of money at it for not much bhp.
But you can get it cammed and re-mapped etc. But best of saving for a 1.6 16v as there A LOT more tunable..

ahh i see, already saving for the engine upgrade anyway but have to wait for some no claims to come in before i do that so it's just short term. Budget wise will i was looking at a K&N heat protected ceramic plated kit. But it's just little things to tune up the engine that would be nice. have a couple of flat spots since head gasket went would like to tune those back out if at all possible.

Drill std airbox and replace paper panel filter with KnN high flow filter

ive just de-coked my engine with some ecotek 'powerboost' foam.
it hardly gives your engine a powerboost but it definatly feels a lot more responsive and has free-er revs - pulls a tad more too.
costs 30 quid and thats it. www.ecotekplc.com - i fitted an ecotek valve too but they dont do an awful lot either - just a weird sound and a bit nippier

about £100 for a manifold, £50 for a decat, decat is an mot failure though, and won't give much more power.
budget mods won't really make a massive difference to the way the car performs though.
drill the airbox, decent panel filter, manifold and a full exhaust system, that will help, but you'll only gain about 5/6bhp
the sri's are fairly nippy anyway

yes i no about the mot failure with a decat pipe, just looking at something to fine tune the engine alittle. full exhaust system is already in so that shouldn't be an issue.

Hrm well is this worth it - Getting a 4 branch mainfold with a decat pipe, putting a decent airfilter into it (protect it to stop heat from the engine etc) and ideas if getting it chipped is worth it? and what about remapping the ecu? any ideas on the prices of the above other than the £100 mainfold etc.
Engine upgrades atm just for around 1 and a half years until ill upgrade the engine anyway so anything to give it a little push up the arse atm is great tbh lol.

Dont bother with dodgy superchips, will just make it run like a bag of shit.
A unichip and remap can cost in the region of £500

Yeh, may aswell just save your money so you can tune the 1.6 16v before it goes in

ah, can't really do that tbh got lucky on insurance once £750 with no no claims 18 years old modded 1.4sri fully comp my name. a 1.6 16v would change that to around £1800+ and i just don't have that!
going up to a 2.0 at 2 years no claims will be 20 as well.
but saving for that. fitting cost is nothing friend will do it for free so just waiting on the driving to come into play
