I don't like the direction my current employer is going, and after the disapointment of not being made redundant I am having to retrain in something that I do not want to do, not because I will have to work for once but because of the fact in all honesty its a shitty job with little rewards, before at least if I wasn't working for 35 hours a week it made no difference if I didn't get a bonus
So, I want to move into the motortrade, probably in aftersales either in parts of service advisor etc I've seen some motor trade agencies but they are mostly useless and internet based. Can anyone give me some pointers as to how they got their job within the motor trade?
Thanks

I went into the motor trade when i was 16, i'm 21 now and had several different jobs in it, in my experience don't go into the motor trade, very little money in it until you get into management positions, and every place i have been to there has been a very high ratio of cunts. You will probably end up regretting it. In my experience of course

24 - £20,000, I am resigned to the fact I will be taking a pay drop, considerable.
I'm gonna give this job here a go first, but if it fails I want to be able to get out fairly quick so want to get my CV out there.

By the time you are 34 you probably will just about equal the wage you are on now in the motortrade, it is that bad.

Yeah it does, unless you get into management then 20k will be the most you will see to be fair unless you are in car sales which is generally commission based.

Parts department wages around here are 15k starting wage, which isn't that bad.

Grr.

Could you cope with a 5k pay cut to do a job which involves trying to work out what people mean by 'the little blue thing which goes on the wire on the passenger side' ?
