Does anyone have there fan up to a manual switch?
been discussing this and id like more control over when the fan kicks in as at moment it doesnt at all ut if direct to battery it kicks in
do people find its better having it automatic so can keep car temp down or that ecu controlling is better

if it doesnt kick in, the fan switch in the radiator isn't working. buy a new one, then it'll be fine.

Im gonna put my fan on a switch soon. All you gotta do is find the fan switch on the rad (should be at the bottom on the left, looking from the front) cut into the two wires coming out of the switch and join two other wires onto them, then root them through the bulk head and on to a switch

100deg is normal.
The cooling system is pressurised, so the boiling point of coolant is raised to about 120deg if i remember rightly.
Theres no need for manual switch(unless high revving track car or something)
the thermostat will turn the fan on when its needed....

I've got one cos I didn't like the fan not cutting in until 100*c. Now comes in at about 92*c. You'll need a cool running thermostat as well though to lower the running temp to about 88*c otherwise the fan will be on all the time.

When i bought my car it was wired up manually cause the guy i bought it off said the fan switch didnt work, i did, it just came in too high cause it had a deisel swith on, which come in at higher temps, i just changed it to a petrol switch and got rid of the manual one.

it sucks the cold air thru the rad, then blown into bay.
it wouldnt work other way, as it would push air from bay (exhaust manifold) thru the rad.

Mines a 1.4 16v Ecotec, my mates a mechanic and sorted the switch for me, said you cant tell the difference by looking, but some are deisel switches, some are petrol.
