Does MPG bother you?

I get fed up with people saying i bet the MPG isnt very good on that.

Or whats the MPG like.

Mabe im not old enough or something but when my tank is empty i fill it up.
if it last 100 miles then it last 100 miles. If it last 300 it last 300.

I wouldnt drive a sports car if i was botherd about MPG.

So does it bother you?

I'll say it bothers me more than it used to, I used to be of when its empty fill it up & never pay any attention to the price/litre. But then started doing more miles & giving shell £400 every month to have the privalage of sitting in a fast car through miles of traffic jams started to wear me thin.

Bad MPG doesnt bother me its the amount of bad mpg I was doing that finally cracked me!!

I'll also say it was nice when I had my old mans A4 2L TDi - 50mpg & it was still pretty quick

I may convert to diesel for my next car, if im back to low miles then I wont & I will happily live with mid teen mpg

You both drive small engined hatchbacks though....good mpg comes as part of the package

ok heres a scenario

take the golf V6 4 motion and compare it to the 1.8T, remap the 1.8T for £500 and youve got roughly the same power? but i bet you the 1.8T will still be more economical. so in a situation like that yes MPG would matter.

Ones a 4WD V6 & the others a FWD Turbo though the larger capacity & permanent 4WD will always be thirstier.

Better scenario would be to take the 1.8T GTi & the GT tdi - similar performance stats but one will do many more mpg that the other.

Yeah, but like TNM says, you don't by a sports/tuned/stripped car if you do lots of miles, but people on here seem to always ask what MPG a 1.2 16v Corsa should do

Situations can change though, you can have the sports/tuned/stripped car before you need to do the miles then your opinion will quickly change & it will be for sale.

People asking about for an example wanting to buy a scooby/evo/supra but worried about the fuel economy should stick to their corsa, someone with a 1.2 moaning about their mpg should stick to walking

Im seriously considering one, like I said I had my old mans A4 for a couple weeks, clocked up over 1000 miles driving all over the country & only had to fill up a couple times....was ace

Any Vag Derv or maybe 5 series is high up on my list.

MPG doesn't really bother me - I tend to fill up every Sunday before Uni, regardless of where the fuel gauge is. I know I pay out just as much in the long run, but paying £22 for 3/4 of a tank rather than £35 makes a huge difference in a week with not much money, being a student n'all.

I think I would convert to diesel, ONLY if it was a modern, quiet diesel and not a tractor - something like the Fabia vRS diesel would do me just fine.

Oh, and I'd have to be doing a lot of miles for a diesel - my trip to Uni is about 25miles, so isn't huge and the 12v doesn't seem too thirsty.
