we won the cup last year but have been poor with only 11 players each week. we have had our left winger in goal but i thought sod it i play 5 aside in goal lets go back to my youth and have a full game in goal

Its Sunday League Football.. the pitch was a bog and no other games went ahead

i play south midlands league on a saturday.. Sunday is more of a muck around..

Linesman - you cannot see the whole pitch
pitch - is medium for Aylesbury
cordoned off? this is a town not every pitch will be - some are some arent they are just playing fields as this is a town of 55k ppl and 30 teams needing a pitch

the pitch isnt corned off ??? ive never played on a pitch thats corned off, even when ive played at class a pitches like arsenals/millwall/spurs/watfords traning ground etc

Yes it will you muppet...each one of them especially 2-4 suggests the league they are playing in isnt a decent standard of league...therefore the teams in the league wont be of a decent standard...as the players are not of a decent standard...

FFS its not hard to understand...and my thoughts have been backed up by his admission that it is Sunday league football...therefore not a decent standard...

I wasnt having a go at the lad...I play Sunday league footy too as well as my Saturday footy...it was just an observation...

I think you can still have very good sunday league teams. There are a lot of fairly skilled players out there that just don't do the training etc that all semi-pro pro clubs require.

I agree that its shows its a lesser standard but it can still be very good IMO the different between a good sunday league team and a crap semi-pro team is not much at all

10 years ago when I was playing at county level etc we also played Reading 1sts - they only just beat us yet all of us were mostly only playing in sunday league teams etc outside the schools U-19. (Obivously Reading are much better now but just showing that the difference is not always a lot)

As I said im not having a go...I play Sunday football and have played away at FAR worse looking pitches than that!!..Im not having a go...

It appears there is no linesman going from those pics...am I right? As you get into the higher leagues of amateur football such as county level you have 3 officials...

Cordoned off - At county level there is a FA requirement that the pitch be cordoned off...some teams use a simple rope...its to stop spectators encroaching onto the pitch...I dont know the exact rule or where it is...I just know this is the case from playing at that level...this isnt the case on a Sunday though...

And come on Rooney doesnt have a beer gut...hes a well built lad...but not fat!!

i play for a sunday league team, we are in the lowest league as we have just started.

our pitch is easily the best in the league and al games always have linesman etc.

does that mean this is of high standard?
