Always had a slight rattle/squeaky noise coming from the back of my car since i fitted my g-max shocks and springs some time ago. Hasent really bothered me but seeing as im looking to sell the car soon i think i should get it sorted.
Any ideas what could be causing it. Ive had a look under the car and it all seems in order. The only thing that seemed odd to me is that when the car is sitting on the springs the middle two coils touch together (on the rear), is this normal?

do the middle coils touch on both side of the car? Mine is only on one side and it's the side that is not touching (driver's side) that makes the annoying sound

i have exactly same problem now and i have 40mm gmax kit shocks and spring! when you push down on the rear of the car you can hear it! seems to be just on the right hand side though!

Jake do you mean just swap the left with the right?

ye i also think this sometimes abdus lol the problem for me is the drivers side rear suspension, squeaks like a biatch lol

I've got exactly the same noise, its an annoying squeek from the back right ?? I reckon it could be the bush at the bottom of the damper that bolts to the axle being slightly too big for the bracket that accepts it, which means that as its not lubricated will squeek.... However I could be miles off !!

well im going to get under it next weekend and have a proper look, so il check that as well thanks
Just in my mind the coils shouldnt touch each other and i could imagine that making this kind of noise

they shouldn't touch i don't think... don't think mine do.... i'll have a look tomorrow an see.... If you do find out the problem, post it up here so i can sort mine !!!

i had the same problem. i thought it was the exhaust knocking on the rear.
it turned out the be the bolt on the bottom of the rear strut was stripped (by the people who fitted it). i couldnt remove it, so i had to put another nut on to stop the other nut from moving.
that solved my problem though

mine touch on the drivers side and they are also g max,the middle to coils.

my spax -40mm rear springs touch but according to their website its totally normal.
I also have some rattling from one side which im assuming is the coils catching on eachother

My question too as mine is quite rattly but with my car window slighlty open, heaters on 2 and music level on 12 you can't hear nothing
