Has anybody on here had any joy with getting a job by sending a CV to a company, even if you're not aware they are advertising for jobs?

There are a few employers in Milton Keynes who i'd be interested in working for, but i'm not really sure if they are currently seeking new employees. So I thought I might send my CV/Resume with some sort of cover note and then see what happens.

Basically I know I could be earning more money then what i'm currently on elsewhere with my skills, and know that my current employers would not be able to match the salary others could offer.

Ok thats what I was hoping to hear. I guess they'll keep it on record then for future vacancies or something.

yes and even if you dont meet their criteria at the mo, in a year or so they might still ring to see what experiences you have gained etc. Worth it IMO for the price of sheet of paper and a stamp

I handed in an application form to Next year before last in May or something... Perhaps earlier.. I got a phone call in October/November saying that id been succesful.. Goes to show that a lot of companies keep CV's and Application forms for the future....

Do it. They can always say no, but easily invite you in..
