after being sick of doing cr@p office jobs ive been thinking about doing a 5 day plastering course what ive seen in my local paper..
bin doing some research into it and it sounds good, and is good money.
but just wanted to know if anyone has ever done one of these/or knows anyone, as i dont wanna hand over £300 if its not gonna be worth it.

To be honest you wont learn how to be a plasterer in 5 days, is lot harder than it looks. You might learn the basics, but it takes a lot of practice and experience to become good, can earn good money once good at it though...

Plastering is a very skilled trade, Cant see 5 days worth doing much for you. Pisses me off as a tradesman all these courses. we end up with no work because someone who done some cowboy course will do the job for next to nothing.
(should be in Off Day BTW)

I'll second this, I've been doing it for months now with me employer, takes a while to learn, a good technique to start with helps though

Agree with the above.
After seeing it done at work many many times I had a go thinking yeah it would be difficult but I could do it , but once the plaster is on its got to be smooth and level.
This is very difficult when you have 4 walls and a cieling to do and I totally respect the skill that plasterers have !

Me to, I am a plumber, when we have finished a job there is always cupboards to be built, pipes to be boxed in and such. we can cope with that but plastering on anything but a tiny scale is very difficult to get right
