there have been loads of posts about this film but i've got to say, watched it again last nite and i still cant work it out. the website is even more confusing.

the plane engine is from the future from the plane his mum and sister are on, if he survives in the past it means that his mum and girlfriend die, so he decides to go back in time and sacrifice himself to save his mum and girlfriend. thats an extremely watered down version though

the rabbit is an unexplainable thing, some people think its the ghost of the guy he shoots going back in time to make sure that his girlfriend survives and therefore he doesnt get shot either

first time i watched it about 3 years ago it did my head in coz i couldn't figure it out. i just put it down to being one of them films your not meant to get. now i've seen it again i just have to know wot its about otherwise i'll start talkin to giant scary rabbits called frank.

Donnie darko is a great film, gets you thinkin.
Now there is one flaw with Donnie bringing back time so that he dies when the engine falls - the plane will still crash as it wont have an engine. lol
The reason i think he went back in time and let himself get killed was because of his girlfriend dieing and that he felt he wasnt actually going anywhere in life.
So it would benefit other people if he died when the engine fell.

if Donnie had died then he wouldn't have exposed the paedophile which would mean the teacher would be on the plane instead of his mum. his sister might still be, who's to say?

I got it the first time I watched it, it is an amazing film, quite disturbing and very dark at times but I throughly enjoyed it.
Only thing left unexplained was who the rabbit was?

First time I watched it I was quite stoned... So got confused and fell asleep.
However, Second time i feel asleep again... Maybe im just not supposed to watch this film.
