For 5k, would a Turbo be a total dog?
There's a couple on AT, got me thinking...
Would a 2.2 or SE2 be a better option for the money, or even a Linea Rossa (whatever that got over the normal ones?)

2,2 is a very good car, just MPG is a bit shocking
IMo i would rather get a nice 2.2 than a tired turbo

Linea Rossa would be more than 5K, were more around the 7K mark if I remember correctly
I was looking at them earlier too, some of them seem alright mileage wise but I suppose any of them could be dogs!

i would'nt go for a turbo at that price mate.
and the 2.2 art'nt brill. get a bit noisy with them being chain drive and the is'nt much on paper between the 1800 and the 2200 if your thinking on the lines of saving insurance wise.

Not bothered about MPG at all, I do about 100 miles a month at the moment
SE2s are nice, but the 2.2s are a bit more money than the 1.8s, and Dan.T on here has a 1.8, and lives near me, so I can't have one of them
Theres a 2.2 SE2 3 miles from me, at a dealer, I might check it out, see if they'll take my car as payment

Col, my brother in law has a 2.2 hatch, It's better to drive than my mum's old 1.8 hatch, but then, the coupe could have a different gearbox I suppose.
I'm just wary of the cheapness Seems like a hell of a lot of car for 5k

I sold this one about 3-4 months ago for £6K;
was mint with about 55K on the clock. With Christmas time bringing prices down and if u dont want all the extra's like the upgraded interior and bumpers i can't see why you couldnt get a decent one

The SE2's are nice. Love the interiors. Shame they didn't make a Turbo SE2

Get a turbo or the 1.8 the only ones worth getting.
Turbos are very reliable as long as cambelt, water pump and turbo seals are done at 40k miles
