Can i buy a group 1 insurance car and sit it on the drive, insure it for like £20 a month in order to not loose my NC's?

Sounds stupid but ill do anythig to keep the insurance down for when i get my licence back.

Even cheaper. Go and get a plate of a car down the scrappy. Insure it. Score.

Reg doesn't get released. If a car gets scrapped, that reg gets scrapped with it unless it's taken off beforehand.

For example. I could get a quote on my mum's old metro that was scrapped when I was little!

I don't think i've ever given my V5 into an insurance company...

Edit: You mean you have to hold the V5? Don't know if that's true...

all cars in scrap yards are reported to dvla as scrapped, scrap yards do this by law or else they will be closed down they are checked weekly

also dont you think car thiefs would ring cars etc all they would have to do is walk into a scrap yard and get a plate

some peoples ideas on here are laughable
