as my stereo wont turn off with the ignition or turn on
what will i need to change over

it gets hot as well hotter than normal
it still hold its memory though
will changing some wires over mess it up

normally the red and yellow (ignition and live) but if its already holding memory splice the 2 wires until you get the right combination, they're the only 2 wires you need to play with.

what you mean cut them both in 2 and then join red and yelow together with a conecter?

OK

both your red and yellow are currently connected to a permanent live. This is why your stereo wont turn off.

what you need to do is cut the red wire and attach it to an ignition live. this will make it turn on with the ignition and solve all your problems

in my corsa no but since getin another car and a new lead for it its just started doing it

you can get an ignition live either from the cigarette lighter (the current draw is only small so dont worry)

or

from the ignition wires, in the errr ..... ignition

if you have got a multimeter its easy to find out which wires in your car produce an ignition live. it will only produce 12 volts when the key is turned to 2clicks
