its not a laughing matter, but i would assume it would be a problem as you'll be required for training, which involves staying in billets on camps. only when you're in fully can you live in a house with your family etc. as far as i'm aware though.

I think it would very much depend on what you wanted to do within the RAF.

Cant see you taking her with you when you do your initial training, once you get past that though it probably wont be a problem!!

Why the desire to join now though???

you wouldnt be able to take her to training with you, you'd need to provide care (alhtough saying that they might do that for you) but soon as you done the 1st 9 weeks they would give you somewhere to live with ur kid.

if you can get through the initial training think about what happens after that, what happens when you get posted to Iraq or somewhere for 6 months . it wouldn't just be the initial training you would need to get through. it may sound like i'm having a go but its something you really need to consider

RAF is going thru a major change soon, so if you want in, make sure a) your pay depends on what u learn (i.e. avionics technician etc) b) you can put up with every bloke on camp wanting to shag you, because you have a vagina

i'm in the raf but i cant answer your question off the top of my head.

I'd imagine through the basic training your not going to be able to take your kid but after that they will sort you out with a house.

there's a single mum at my work i cant see it being a problem.

what you wanting to be?

well that changes things then, if you're based in one particular place you should be alright.

out of interest, why wouldn't she go to iraq?

I loved it! Did cliff diving, mini moto grand prix, watched loggerhead turtles hatch and got to see the spy plane take off and land
